What is a hobo stew ride?

This is one of the questions we are asked often at motorcycle shows we attend.

The hobo stew ride is a annual event held by the club, where we ride to a mystery destination. This destination is a roadside park or stopping area with picnic tables and a parking area. Each person is asked to bring a can or jar of their favorite ingredient along for the ride. Once we arrive at the destination we put all the cans and jars in a large pot and cook it over a open flame. Then everyone gets a bowl and digs in, sometimes its good, sometimes not so much, but its always different.
